What are Skin Tags?
Skin tags are very common and harmless. Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths that are attached to the surface of the skin. They can vary in colour and size and form primarily in areas where the skin creases or rubs together, such as the neck, armpit or under the breasts. Skin tags can also occur on the face, usually around the eyelid area.
Why do skin tags occur?
Skin tags are made up of loose collagen fibres and blood vessels surrounded by skin. They often go unnoticed, unless they are in a prominent place or are repeatedly irritated by clothing, jewellery, or when shaving. If your skin tag is bothering you, you may wish to have them removed.
All treatments are tailored to the individual and personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to discuss your treatment options.
How Can Skin Tags Be Removed?Skin tags can be easily removed using a burning or freezing method, similar to how warts are removed. Skin tags can also be surgically removed. If you wish to have your skin tags removed, your first step should be to arrange a complimentary consultation with one of our dermatologists. During your consultation, your dermatologist will access the area and advise you on your best removal method.
