Dr Katerina Charakida will assess the mole, discuss the most suitable removal method, and advise whether histology is recommended. Depending on the mole type, location and clinical assessment, removal may involve shave removal or surgical excision under local anaesthetic.
The approach is designed not only to remove the mole, but to consider the final cosmetic outcome, including scar placement, closure technique and aftercare. Where a lesion needs further investigation before removal, Dr Charakida will advise this at consultation.
Skin tags on the neck, underarms, eyelids and body are removed by Dr Charakida using cautery or fine surgical removal under local anaesthetic. Multiple skin tags can usually be treated in a single appointment, and small lesions typically require no downtime.
As with all procedures, the technique is selected to leave the cleanest possible result, with aftercare guidance provided to support healing.
Epidermoid, pilar and sebaceous cysts are excised under local anaesthetic at EF MEDISPA Kensington. Where clinically suitable, Dr Charakida removes the full cyst capsule, which helps to reduce the chance of recurrence compared with simply draining the cyst.
