What is Dermaroller?
Dermaroller is a very popular microneedling treatment that can help to boost the skin’s own healing powers to tackle many common skin concerns such as wrinkles, scarring, stretchmarks, sagging skin and enlarged pores.
Dermaroller uses a handheld device that houses a network of microscopic needles, which are gently rolled over the surface of the skin triggering the production of new collagen. We usually combine Dermaroller with one of the specialized growth factor serums from AQ Skin Solutions to further enhance the results of the treatment. The needles cause tiny punctures to the skin enabling the nourishing powers of this cutting-edge growth factor serum to reach deeper under the lower layers of the epidermis. The trauma caused by the needles forces the skin’s own healing mechanism to begin, triggering the production of new skin cells, collagen and elastin.
Numbing cream can be applied prior to treatment to ensure you are feeling comfortable throughout the treatment. Difference in the skin texture can be usually noticed after 1 treatment, but a course of 4-6 treatments is recommended to achieve maximum results. Each treatment may cause some redness and irritation to the skin, which usually subside within the next hours.
All treatments are tailored to the individual and personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to discuss your treatment options.

3 DURING THE TREATMENT
Dermaroller, similar to all microneedling treatments, is a minimally invasive treatment. Your therapist will apply a topical anesthetic cream prior to the treatment to make sure you are feeling comfortable. A sterile, single-use roller with microneedles will be used all over the areas you wish to treat, creating microtraumas that will jump start your body’s collagen production. A specific nourishing serum will also be applied to enhance the cell regeneration process. The treatment can last up to 90 minutes depending on your specific concerns and the areas you wish to treat.
4 AFTER THE TREATMENT
Dermaroller involves minimal downtime (up to 5 days) for your skin to fully recover. You should expect some redness and sensitivity on the treated areas that will soon subside leaving you with a more even, retextured complexion. Your practitioner will assess the exact amount of downtime needed according to the intensity of the treatment. Usually we recommend a course of 4 to 6 treatments for optimum results.
