What is Dermapen?
Dermapen is a revolutionary skin repair treatment that can help to significantly improve the appearance of ageing or scarred skin. It uses 12 disposable microscopic needles, attached to a handheld device, to gently puncture the skin causing minute traumas on its surface. The skin reacts defensively by naturally releasing healing collagen and elastin to repair itself. The production of collagen and elastin work to tighten, smooth and firm the skin, smoothing out its texture and improving its overall appearance.
All our Dermapen skin treatments are personalised to your individual concern. The length of the needle is adjustable, helping to adapt the treatment accordingly to the type of concern you wish to treat. Whilst you may see results after just 1 treatment, a course of 4 – 6 treatments is usually recommended.
Numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to ensure that any discomfort is minimal. Immediately after your treatment, you should expect some mild redness and inflammation that should disappear within the next few days. Dermapen is less invasive than many alternative solutions, you can therefore return to your normal daily activities straight away. Following your Dermapen treatment, your therapist will apply a bespoke blend of nourishing serums to further enhance the results of your treatment.
All treatments are tailored to the individual and personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to discuss your treatment options.

Step BY Step Dermapen
1 NO OBLIGATION CONSULTATION
The process will begin with a no obligation consultation with one of EF MEDISPA’s expert Treatment Coordinators, who are trained to discuss the procedure in fine detail with you and answer any queries you may have. After taking a full medical history, your Coordinator will be able to suggest the treatment most suitable for you. If you would like to go ahead your appointment will then be booked with your EF MEDISPA practitioner.
2 MEET YOUR PRACTITIONER
During your appointment your therapist will examine your skin and answer any further queries you may have.
3 TREATMENT
A topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to ensure comfort throughout the procedure. Once the skin has numbed, your practitioner will gently move the Dermapen over your skin to puncture the epidermal layer and create very minor, minuscule traumas. These microscopic injuries can help to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin, encouraging the skin to renew itself.
4 AFTER TREATMENT
Following your procedure your therapist will recommend the appropriate homecare for you. After the treatment you should experience slight redness that will soon subside and you can shortly resume day to day activities.
Dermapen FAQs
How does it work?
Dermapen uses a microneedling technique to create small, gentle punctures in the skin, the majority of which are simply pushing your pores open temporarily. This stimulates the release of growth factors that trigger the production of collagen and elastin. Your skin reacts to any injury by initiating the healing process.
Will it hurt?
A topical anaesthetic cream can be applied beforehand to ensure your comfort during the procedure.
When will I see results?
Results are usually seen within a week to 10 days*, sometimes slightly earlier but will vary from client to client. A course of treatments is recommended for optimal results.
Will Dermapen be right for me?
During your initial consultation your EF MEDISPA Treatment Coordinator will discuss your medical information and establish whether or not this is a suitable treatment for you.
