What is Fat Transfer Surgery?
Providing a more natural form of cosmetic surgery is a form of liposuction that removes fat from one part of their body to another to enhance the shape or size of another area. Fat transfer surgery combines both fat reduction and body enhancement into one procedure, helping to shape and contour your body.
Using your own fat to accentuate another chosen area, fat transfer surgery eliminates the need for any implants to be used. This enables the treatment to be performed as a day surgery using conscious sedation, resulting in minimal downtime. Using a precise form of treatment called Vaser Liposuction, the fat transfer surgery enables subtle volume to be restored to parts of the body that may require enhancement.
The added benefit with fat transfer surgery is the long-lasting results if a healthy lifestyle is maintained and followed, which can help to give the incentive to start a new health and exercise regime. We recommend undertaking a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to discuss your treatment options and desired results.
All treatments are tailored to the individual and personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to discuss your treatment options.
Fat Transfer to Breasts
Offering a more natural alternative to breast enlargement as it uses your own fat, undergoing fat transfer surgery is an effective solution to improve breast shape and to even up lopsided breasts. Fat can be moved from any area of the body, although it is common for clients to choose fat removal from areas such as the tummy or inner thigh.
Because of its dual properties, fat transfer surgery to the breasts has the added benefit of being a mini tummy tuck or fat reduction of an area as well as breast augmentation.
Fat Transfer to Buttocks
A common problem some people may experience is the buttocks sagging and drooping over time, resulting in the pertness and shape dropping. The Brazilian Butt Lift treatment is a popular surgery that lifts and adds volume, something that regular exercise cannot resolve alone.
Fat transfer surgery to the buttocks provides the results of a butt implant but only using your own body fat that has been taken from an area that you wish to tone. This can help to resolve any problem areas you may have with stubborn fat build-up by giving the chance to resolve multiple concerns by using a more natural method. A benefit of this is minimal downtime and can be done within one-day. Each client has individual needs so having a consultation with our Treatment coordinators is the ideal way to confirm the best solution for you.
What happens during the procedure?
During the process of fat transfer surgery, you will be put under conscious sedation with the treatment taking between 2-3 hours to complete. Fat transfer surgery at EF MEDISPA is a same-day procedure as it doesn’t require general anaesthesia and has minimal downtime.
Your surgeon will make a small incision to the area from which you want to remove the fat. A small probe is inserted which will safely transmit ultrasound waves which are used to liquefy the fat. The liquefied fat is then gently removed and reinserted in the form of injections, directly into the parts of the body you wish to accentuate or smooth. The results will give you a more sculpted and contoured figure without the need for silicone implants or a long period of downtime.
How long is the recovery time?
As it doesn’t require an overnight stay or any general anaesthetic, fat transfer London surgery has minimal downtime. Depending on how your health and lifestyle are being maintained after surgery you can expect to return to work within 3-14 days approximately. You will be provided with a ‘compression garment’ to wear to help the healing process and enhance results. Wearing this will also ensure pockets of fluid do not form, as well as offering added support and comfort.
How long you will need to wear the ‘compression garment’ depends on the area that has been treated and can vary between clients. You will not require any future surgery post-fat transfer, however, 5-10 aftercare sessions will be required. Your personal Treatment Coordinator will guide you through your bespoke plan that will include us recommending a healthy diet and exercise regime to maximise results.
