Don’t Let Stress Bring you Down

Looking After Yourself Inside and Out

TraceyIt's easy to become overwhelmed by day to day life, all of a sudden daily tasks can seem unmanageable and cause us unnecessary stress. Around 70% of all adults will experience phases of stress in their lives, and the severe cases can cause big problems making matters even worse.

It's important to look after yourself properly to help reduce your risk of stress. Making active choices to take extra care both inside and out can make all the difference, and this doesn't have to mean big changes that takes up a lot of your time either, just small changes can help keep you feeling calm and in control.

Eating Right

Nutrition and diet play a strong role in our mood and our well being. If your diet is poor it's likely to give you low levels or energy, you may also experience mood swings too when sugar levels drop. Our Nutrition packages are individually designed by resident Nutritionist Kim Pearson to ensure your diet is aiding you in dealing with and relieving stress, not exacerbating the problem.

General advice is that someone with a healthy and well balanced diet is far less likely to have high stress levels.

These foods are rich in the vitamins and minerals which help to reduce stress levels:

Asparagus: High in folate, asparagus can help you keep calm and lower your stress levels.

Avocado: Proven to fight stress, avocados are rich in glutathione, a substance that blocks absorption of some fats that cause oxidative damage. They are also rich in lutein, beta-carotene, vitamin E and folate, all of which can work towards reducing stress.

Blueberries: This tiny little fruit contains the highest level of antioxidant called 'anthocyanin'. They are linked to lots of health benefits, but because they contain high levels of vitamin C they are great to combat stress.

Drip 'n Chill

When your body needs an extra boost, the Drip 'n Chill lounge at EF Medispa is a great way to make sure your body is rich in everything it needs to stay healthy. A drip and chill treatment involves a vitamin infusion that gives your body all the essential nutrients it needs. Drips can be tailored for your needs, so you can have a drip that will work towards reducing your stress levels.

Tailored for dealing with problems with stress and recommended to reduce stress levels, the Zone Out Colonic Hydrotherapy treatment works to remove waste, getting rid of toxins that can cause us to feel negative, as well as feeling tired, suffering from skin problems and further health problems, all of which can lead to higher levels of stress.

Working from the Outside In

Not only do you need to look after yourself externally, it is also important to take the time to care for yourself on the outside too. Unfortunately high levels of stress can have an adverse effect on the skin, and so a carefully selected skin care regime is key in reducing the external affects and helping to keep further damage to the skin at bay.
