5 healthy and delicious smoothies to try!

Summer is just around the corner, and we all want to get our summer bods ready! Here are five (dairy free, gluten free, sugar free) smoothies to help you feel fresh, glowing and help debloat you.

With the start of Summer, most of us are looking to include more clean and healthy recipes to feel healthy and fit in time for our holidays!

Nothing helps to reset and recharge your digestive system like a delicious super-food power smoothie. Smoothies are a great way to start the day and get lots of nutrients in. Smoothies are also release energy slowly and are very quick to do in the morning, especially for those who work all day or for the mummies who only have a few minutes to themselves in the mornings.

Whether you you just back from holiday, drank too much alcohol on the weekend, want to boost your immune system or just want to eat a bit healthier, smoothies are the easiest way to pack a ton of nutrition into your meal.

These smoothies are so simple and can also be swapped for your favorite fruits and veg!


The Green Detox Smoothie

This smoothie is perfect for those of us who suffer from bloating, and need a quick detox before our summer holiday. Full of nutrients and loaded with powerful superfoods, this smoothie will leave you full until lunch time and give you lots of energy!

1 celery
1 handful of spinach
1 handful of kale
1 apple
1 lemon (Add lemon juice to taste)
1/2 a cup of cold water
Cucumber chunks
A pinch of fresh ginger (optional)
Avocado (Optional and adds thickness)


The Protein Boost Smoothie

This smoothie is for our gym junkies! (Or for those who just want to increase their protein intake!) This smoothie is full of fibre and protein which will help to boost your metabolism, help reduce your appetite and help you lose body fat without losing muscle. This Smoothie is perfect for before or after a workout!

Frozen mixed berries
1 or 2 scoops of your favourite protein powder
1 handful of spinach
Water or milk
1 frozen banana (optional)


The Vitamin C Boost

One of the most popular vitamins and supplements out there is Vitamin C. Not only is it great for fighting colds, but it's a great defense against stress-induced illness. Vitamin C has been shown to help blood vessels relax, which over time, it may help protect against cardiac arrest and lower blood pressure.


Freshly squeezed orange juice
Frozen mango chunks
half a carrot
Lemon juice
Almond milk (Optional or swap this for water!)
Ice


The Berry Kale Smoothie

Eating berries may help your memory and have high levels of various compounds that can help widen arteries that provide a smoother flow of blood. Kale can also help to boost wellbeing and prevent a range of health problems as it contains fibre, antioxidants, calcium, and Vitamin K among others.


Black Berries
Rasberries
Strawberries
A Handful of Kale
Soya milk (or any milk of your choice)
Teaspoon of chia seeds


The Tropical Smoothie

Papayas are one of the most popular fruits in South America and Asia, not only because of how delicious they are but also because it aids digestion. Research has shown that brightly-coloured fruit are a rich source of fibre, antioxidant vitamins and carotenes.

Frozen pineapple chunks
half a mango
Papaya chunks
Freshly squeezed orange juice
Lemon Juice
Water


Don't forget that all ingredients can be swapped for your favourite fruits and veg!

If you want to add more sweetness, some natural sweetners that you could add are  bananas, agave, honey and dates! If you don't particularly like the liquids mentioned above, other options include coconut water, water, any milk of your choice, yogurt or Kefir (which will add thickness!)
