Large pores are a common complaint for both men and women, and can seem difficult to minimise. However, at EF MEDISPA, we recognise that everyone’s skin is different, and that different people suffering from the same problem will often benefit from different treatments. So we put together an overview of our favourite treatments that can all be used to help minimise the appearance of enlarged pores. If you would like to find out which treatment, or combination of treatments would be best suited to your skin, book a complimentary consultation with our expert Treatment Coordinators here.
Why do we get enlarged pores?
Enlarged pores are caused when your skin produces excess oil. The oil mixed with dead skin cells then causes the pores to clog. Once the pores are clogged, it becomes difficult for the oil to come out, resulting large pores. Although its impossible to close your pores completely, you can minimise the appearance of them, and these are the best treatments to do that.
Best treatments for enlarged pores
Microfirm is a non-invasive treatment that combines radiofrequency with micro-needling to stimulate collagen production and cell growth. This treatment works to minimise pores, as well as having noticeable anti-ageing benefits.
IPL harnesses the power of Intense Pulsed Light to regenerate collagen production, resulting in tighter and smoother skin. This helps shrink pores and make the appearance of them less visible. IPL also works wonders for the removal of thread veins and pigmentation.
Derma Stamp uses a handheld stamp made up of tiny needles, this is used to penetrate the skin and stimulate the skins natural healing response. This in turn encourages collagen production, improving the skins texture and helping to minimise the appearance of enlarged pores.
Facials & Peels
At EF MEDISPA we have a range of skin peels from light chemical to medical strength to tend to your skins needs. Our peels work to remove surface impurities, stimulate the renewal of cells and collagen, and leave your skin clear and smooth. Peels are a great option if you’re looking to reduce the size of your enlarged pores.
Fraxel laser uses precise points of light to penetrate deep into the skin, targeting old and damaged skin cells. In turn, this stimulates new cell growth, rejuvenating your skin and leaving you with a clear and even skin tone. Fraxel can also be used for anti-ageing, acne scarring, sun spots and stretch marks.
Pixel uses a pulse laser to create microscopic wounds on the surface of the skin, this triggers the skins natural healing process, regenerating cell growth. This helps to restore imperfections on the skin, leaving you with smooth clear skin.
