Labia Surgery FAQs
How does Labiaplasty Surgery work?
We offer all women considering our Labiaplasty surgery a complimentary initial consultation to explain the treatment process and benefits in detail, making sure you are armed with all the information you need to make the right decision for you.
Labiaplasty surgery takes approximately 1 hour in theatre to complete, with the surgery performed by one of our expert Plastic Surgeons. Labia surgery can be performed under a local anaesthetic or conscious sedation, depending on the individual case. Treatment may involve the trimming of the edges or the removal of certain sections of the labia, followed by stitching to seal the wounds.
What Happens During the Labia Surgery?
If you choose to proceed with our Labiaplasty surgery, you will initially meet with one of our highly qualified and experienced Surgeons who will discuss your concerns. An assessment will take place and a treatment plan will be discussed with you. On the day of your labia surgery, you will meet with your Anaesthetist. You will also undergo a pre-op assessment, which may include photographs being taken and markings being made, but these will all be done with the utmost discretion.
You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have at this stage, with our team continually on hand to ensure you always feel well-informed and reassured. The labia surgery itself will take approximately 1 hour, with a further hour usually spent in our recovery suite. You will be closely monitored and cared for by our nursing team during each phase.
After your labiaplasty surgery, you will return to your room where the Doctor on-call may assist with any further painkillers or medication that is required. Once discharged, you may go home, although we understand that everyone is unique, so no case is the same. Therefore, whether you are treated as a day case or require an overnight stay, this will be discussed with your medical team.
