What is Fat Transfer to the breasts?
Fat Transfer to the Breasts is a surgical procedure that uses Vaser Liposuction to extract excess fat from a chosen area of your body and transfer that fat to your breasts, aiming to enhance their shape and size.
This innovative breast enlargement alternative to breast implants can give beautiful natural looking results as it uses a more natural approach to breast augmentation. In addition to improved breast shape, Breast Fat Transfer can also help to sculpt and contour the part of the body from where the fat has been removed.
Breast Fat Transfer can be an ideal solution for many people who have considered breast surgery, but aren’t comfortable with implants. This type of breast augmentation using your own fat, can help to treat uneven breast size and shape as the fat can be re-injected into very specific areas of the breast.
All treatments are tailored to the individual and personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to discuss your treatment options.
What are the benefits of Fat Transfer to the breasts?
Fat Transfer to the breast in our London clinics can be carried out as a day surgery with no need for general anaesthesia or overnight stay. Fat Transfer procedures are significantly less invasive than implant surgery and therefore usually involve less downtime. For those with busy lives, the reduced downtime following the procedure is a major factor when choosing Fat Transfer over traditional breast augmentation with implants.
The added benefit of having excess fat removed from a specific part of the body appeals to many patients too. Not only you can enjoy shapelier breasts, but you can also see the benefits of a liposuction procedure. It is common for women to have fat removed from their stomachs, buttocks or thighs and transferred to their breasts, however, your Surgeon will decide the most suitable areas to select fat from.
Is Fat Transfer To The Breasts Safe?
Fat Transfer to the breasts is a safe, very popular and less invasive form of breast enhancement. At EF MEDISPA all our Surgeons have been employed due to their expertise and proven successes, and always strive to offer the most bespoke Fat Transfer to the breasts London has to offer.
Our clinics provide a safe, sterile and private environment for your Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation. Your Treatment Coordinator will be close to you and support you before and after the procedure answering any question you may have.
As one of the leading cosmetic surgery clinics in the UK for breast enlargement with Fat Transfer, we take the safety and comfort of our patients incredibly seriously. An extensive aftercare programme, designed to improve your recovery and maximise your results, will follow your procedure giving you complete reassurance until you feel ready to be discharged from our care.
How long is recovery time from a Fat Transfer?
Because Fat Transfer to the breasts is a minimally invasive treatment and carried out under conscious sedation, the recovery time is much less than with other breast surgeries. You should be able to return to work in approximately 4 – 7 days, and depending on your lifestyle, your normal day-to-day activities can be resumed around 3 – 14 days post-treatment.
Following your Fat Transfer procedure, you should expect some swelling and bruising and you will be required to wear a medical sports bra and compression garment to enhance results. Your personal recovery time will be discussed with your Surgeon and Treatment Coordinator and monitored as part of your bespoke aftercare programme.

Step by Step Fat Transfer to the breasts
1 NO OBLIGATION CONSULTATION
We want you to feel happy and comfortable with whichever procedure you choose, which is why you will always be offered a fuss-free no obligation consultation with one of our expert Treatment Coordinators to discuss your options. This gives you the chance to ask questions and learn more about Fat Transfer for breast enhancement. We will talk to you about your medical history, your personal hang-ups and your goals, helping you to make an informed decision about the type of procedure that is right for you.
2 BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
You will always meet with your Surgeon before we book you in for treatment; this allows you to ask any lingering questions and to feel comfortable around your treatment team. Your dedicated Treatment Coordinator will schedule your visits including blood tests, mammogram and ultrasound if required. They will also guide you through your aftercare plan, so that you are fully prepared for the best possible recovery after your procedure.
3 DURING THE PROCEDURE
Your comfort and safety is our primary concern. When you arrive at the clinic on the day of your procedure, your Surgeon will be on hand should you need to discuss any last minute queries and to take your final consent. Fat Transfer augmentation is carried out under conscious sedation, so you will also meet with your Anaesthetist, who will help you to relax and get comfortable.
The first part of the procedure is to harvest the fat using Vaser Liposuction. Once collected the fat is then processed using a specialised system preparing it to be transferred. For the final stage, the fat will be re-injected into your breasts. Typically, the procedure lasts between two and three hours. Next, you will be moved to a private recovery suite where you can relax until you are ready to depart.
4 AFTER THE PROCEDURE
We want you to feel at ease throughout your treatment, so while you relax in the recovery suite your Nurse will again be available to discuss your aftercare plan. Herbal infusions and healthy snacks will also be on hand to help keep you feeling your best and you’ll be monitored closely by your medical team. When you are ready to head home your team will arrange your review appointment with your Surgeon and further outline how you should expect your recovery to progress.

Fat Transfer to the breasts FAQs
How long does the treatment take?
Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation combines two procedures – Vaser Liposuction and Fat Transfer and for this reason it will take a little longer than an implant procedure.
Will the procedure hurt?
Your medical team will be on hand throughout to ensure your procedure is as comfortable and pain-free as possible. You will undergo conscious sedation for the procedure, though you may notice some bruising and swelling in the days immediately after your treatment.
How soon will I notice my procedure results?
This type of breast enhancement procedure has instant results, though you’ll see your post procedure shape and size at its best just a few weeks after surgery.
Will my procedure outcome last?
Our expert Surgeons will guide you in what you can expect your body to look like after surgery as the results tend to be less predictable than if you chose to insert a silicone implant with a pre-determined size and shape. You should also be aware that a small amount of the fat transferred will be metabolised by the body after the procedure, however the remaining fat will stay in place as long as you don’t lose weight in the future, as the fat can be lost in the area it was transferred to.
Are there any side effects associated with the procedure?
You’ll be made aware of all possible risks during your consultation and in discussion with your Surgeon prior to your procedure. Your medical team will guide you on how best to administer your aftercare plan and provide you with essential information such as how long you need to wear a medical sports bra and a compression garment for optimal results. Our priority is to help you achieve a relaxed recovery. You are likely to have some swelling and bruising as a result of your Fat Transfer procedure, however this will usually subside within 7-14 days.
